Description
Velvet Ochre Rect. is a wall mirror 150cm high by 90cm wide in a deep box frame covered in velvet, with the glass set back inside it. The frame is 6cm deep and the return face is as visible as the front, so the recess is part of the design rather than a detail: the mirror sits in a lined opening. The nap catches light differently on the front and the return, which is what makes one frame read as two tones of the same colour. The design is by Esther Everaert.
It suits a bedroom, a dressing area or a living room, and it wants a wall it can be seen straight on, because the recess is what distinguishes it and it flattens at an angle. It is not rated for bathroom use, so keep it away from steam: velvet and humidity are a poor pairing. It hangs in two directions on two hooks with wall plugs. At 15kg it is a comfortable two person lift, and the 6cm depth is worth measuring against a door swing.
The frame is velvet over a box section and the glass is plain mirror. Dust the velvet with a soft brush along the nap rather than against it, and keep liquid off it entirely; clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth, not onto the mirror, so nothing runs down onto the fabric. The same frame is made in an olive green and a dusty blue. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.

Frequently Asked
What is the frame made of?
Velvet over a deep box section, 6cm deep, with the mirror set back inside it.
Is the mirror really recessed?
Yes. The frame's inner return face is as visible as the front, so the glass sits in a lined opening.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. It is not rated for bathroom use, and velvet and steam are a poor pairing.
How do I clean the velvet?
Brush it with something soft along the nap rather than against it, and keep liquid off it entirely.
What other colours are made?
An olive green and a dusty blue in the same frame.
