Our Niori designer chandelier range

Our Niori designer chandelier range covers 269 pieces across alabaster, crystal, metal and glass, all produced under our own brand. The range spans tiered and branched forms for dining rooms and foyers, linear bar chandeliers for longer tables, and oversized sculptural pieces for stairwells and double-height spaces. Pricing sits primarily in the £800–£3,000 band, with smaller fixtures from £150 and feature commissions above £3,000. We design the shapes, select the materials and finish each piece in-house, so the design language stays consistent whether you are buying a single dining chandelier or specifying lighting across a whole project.

Alabaster, crystal and metal: materials in our range

Around 58% of our designer chandeliers use natural alabaster as the primary material, paired with brushed brass, matt black or soft white metalwork. Alabaster is a slightly translucent natural stone that transmits light through its mineral structure, producing a warm diffused glow with visible veining behind the light source. The remainder of the range is split across faceted crystal (refractive, sparkling output suited to formal dining rooms and foyers), solid metal frames in brushed brass and blackened steel, and clear or fluted glass for the cleaner contemporary pieces. Every material is real: real natural stone, real cut crystal, real metalwork. Nothing in the range is moulded acrylic dressed as stone or printed film dressed as crystal. If you want to browse the alabaster-led portion of the range on its own, see our alabaster chandeliers range.

Modern and contemporary chandelier styles

Our designer chandeliers include modern and contemporary forms across the full range. The modern pieces lean architectural: linear bar chandeliers, flat disc tiers, clean cylinder drops in alabaster, and minimal brass or blackened steel frames with no decorative shaping. The contemporary chandeliers carry slightly more movement: branched arms with alabaster cups, cascading crystal in updated silhouettes, and tiered forms that read as design objects rather than period reproductions.

The distinction matters for fit. Modern designer chandeliers sit well in newer architecture, open-plan kitchens and dining spaces, and renovated period properties where the rest of the interior reads contemporary. Contemporary chandeliers cover a wider tonal range and work in transitional interiors where traditional architectural detail (cornicing, panelling, deeper colour palettes) is still present but the furniture and finishes are current. Both registers share our material approach and our finishing standards; the choice is aesthetic rather than structural.

Sizing for dining rooms, foyers and stairwells

For designer dining chandeliers hung over a table, the fixture diameter should sit roughly half to two-thirds the width of the table, with the lowest point 75–85cm (30–34 inches) above the table surface. A 1.8m dining table works well with a chandelier between 90cm and 1.2m wide; longer linear chandeliers suit tables over 2.2m.

For designer foyer chandeliers (the US term; entryway or hallway chandeliers for UK readers), the rule of thumb is to add the room's length and width in feet, then use that figure in inches as a target diameter. A 12ft × 14ft foyer suggests roughly a 26-inch (66cm) fixture. Mounting height should leave at least 2.1m (7ft) of clearance from the floor to the lowest point of the chandelier.

For stairwells and double-height spaces, vertical chandeliers and cascading designs work better than wide tiered forms, since the eye reads the piece from multiple floor levels. Position the chandelier so the lowest point is visible from the upper landing and clears head height on the staircase below. We can advise on specific dimensions for a room on request.

Care and cleaning for designer chandeliers

Care depends on the material. For crystal chandeliers, dust the drops regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a soft cloth dampened with a 50/50 solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol, working drop by drop with the power switched off and the bulbs cool. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the fixture, which can leave residue at the fittings.

For alabaster chandeliers, dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid feather dusters, soap-based cleaners, alcohol sprays and glass cleaners; these can erode the stone's natural finish over time. Light marks come off with a soft cloth dampened with plain water; deeper marks respond to a small amount of pH-neutral stone cleaner. Do not apply the alcohol-and-water solution used for crystal to alabaster components.

For brass, blackened steel and other metalwork, a soft dry cloth is sufficient for routine care. Avoid metal polishes on lacquered finishes, which can strip the protective coating. We include material-specific care instructions with every chandelier.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size chandelier do I need for my dining room?

As a starting point, the fixture diameter should be roughly half to two-thirds the width of the dining table, with the lowest point 75–85cm (30–34 inches) above the table surface. A 1.8m table works well with a chandelier between 90cm and 1.2m wide. For longer tables above 2.2m, a linear bar chandelier usually reads better than a single circular fixture. If you can share table dimensions and ceiling height, we can recommend specific pieces from our range.

What's the difference between a chandelier and a pendant light?

A chandelier is typically a multi-light fixture with branched arms, tiered drops or a cluster of light points, designed as a focal piece. A pendant light (or hanging light in US terminology) is usually a single light source suspended from a cord or rod, used singly or grouped above an island or table. Our designer chandeliers cover the larger multi-light forms; for single-point hanging fixtures see our designer pendant lighting range.

Are your chandeliers made from real alabaster?

Yes. Around 7 in 10 of our designer chandeliers use real natural alabaster stone as the primary shade material, not moulded resin, acrylic or printed substitutes. We select alabaster blocks for veining and tonal quality, then finish each panel so the stone's natural structure stays visible under light. The remaining pieces in the range use real cut crystal, solid metalwork or genuine glass, all specified honestly in each product listing.

How do I clean a designer chandelier?

Care depends on the material. For crystal, dust regularly with a soft microfibre cloth, then clean drop by drop with a soft cloth dampened in a 50/50 solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol, with the power off and bulbs cool. For alabaster, dust gently with a dry microfibre cloth and use plain water for marks; avoid alcohol, soap and glass cleaners. For brass and steel metalwork, a soft dry cloth is sufficient. We include material-specific care instructions with every piece.

What ceiling height do I need for a chandelier?

For a chandelier hung over a dining table, the lowest point should sit 75–85cm above the table, so a standard 2.4m ceiling works for most pieces. For foyers, entryways and open rooms with no furniture beneath, leave at least 2.1m (7ft) of clearance from the floor to the lowest point of the fixture. For stairwells and double-height spaces, vertical and cascading chandeliers work better than wide tiered forms. If you have an unusual ceiling height, contact us with the dimensions and we will advise on suitable pieces.

Do you ship chandeliers internationally?

Yes. We ship our designer chandelier range to the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and worldwide. International delivery is calculated at checkout based on destination, fixture size and order value. Larger chandeliers and feature commissions are crated and shipped on dedicated freight; we will confirm lead times and handling arrangements before dispatch.
