Yorken 3 Light 5-Tier Crystal Wall Light - Chrome

The Yorken is a 53cm vertical wall light with five stacked tiers of faceted crystal droplets on a polished chrome frame, housing three SES bulbs rated at 40W each. Each tier is constructed from individual crystal prisms hung on a chrome ring, creating a cascading vertical effect that runs from a 28cm-wide top tier down to progressively narrower lower tiers, forming a tapered silhouette.

Designed for staircases, formal landings and hallway entrances where a vertical accent is needed, the Yorken works as a flanking pair on either side of a doorway or as a solo accent above a console table. The 16.5cm projection from the wall allows it to be fitted in corridors without blocking passage, while the 5kg weight requires a secure fixing into solid wall or suitable stud backing. The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and pairs with modern chrome fixtures, polished nickel or stainless steel hardware.

The five-tier structure gives the light a strong vertical rhythm that draws the eye upward, making it useful in spaces with high ceilings or narrow proportions where a horizontal fitting would feel compressed. Each crystal prism refracts light from the three internal bulbs, casting prismatic patterns onto adjacent walls when lit. The chrome rings between each tier add definition and prevent the droplets from blending into a single mass, maintaining the architectural layering even when the light is off.

What bulbs does the Yorken take?

The fitting takes three SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs, each rated at a maximum of 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with candle-shaped LED bulbs in the 4-6W range with a warm white colour temperature around 2700K-3000K.

Can it be installed on a stud wall?

The Yorken weighs 5kg, which exceeds the safe load for typical plasterboard fixings. Installation on stud walls requires fixing into the timber stud itself with appropriate wood screws, or using specialist heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated for at least 10kg when spread across multiple fixing points.

Does the chrome finish tarnish over time?

Polished chrome is resistant to tarnishing under normal indoor conditions. In bathrooms or coastal environments with high humidity or salt air, occasional wiping with a soft dry cloth will maintain the finish. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that can scratch the chrome plating.

How are the crystal droplets cleaned?

The crystal prisms can be wiped with a slightly damp microfibre cloth while the light is switched off and cool. For thorough cleaning, individual droplets can be removed from their fixing points, washed in warm soapy water, dried with a lint-free cloth and re-hung.
