Description

The Wexford is a 2-light lantern pendant built around a cylindrical blown glass shade held inside a polished chrome frame. Two SES (E14) candle bulbs sit inside the glass cylinder, each rated to 60W maximum, with the light passing through the clear glass before being reflected back by the chrome frame. The frame includes curved arms that join a domed top with a central ring suspension point.

Designed for entrance halls, landings and corridors with ceiling heights between 2.4-3m, the Wexford provides ambient light in a compact 16cm diameter footprint. The 38cm height including the frame suits drop installations of 1-1.5m from ceiling to the base of the fitting, placing the light at head height or slightly above in typical residential hallways. The transparent glass keeps the visual weight low despite the chrome metalwork, making it suitable for narrower spaces where a solid pendant would feel heavy.

The polished chrome finish on the frame reflects surrounding light and gives sharp definition to the curved arms and decorative dome detail at the top. The blown glass cylinder is fabricated as a single piece with slightly thicker walls than pressed glass alternatives, giving it additional weight stability when hung. The overall 1kg mass including chain and canopy requires a standard ceiling hook or rose rated to at least 5kg for secure installation. What bulbs does the Wexford take?

The Wexford uses two SES (E14 small Edison screw) candle bulbs, each rated to a maximum of 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient hallway lighting.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The fitting measures 38cm tall excluding chain. For typical hallway installation with a 1-1.5m drop from ceiling to base, a minimum ceiling height of 2.4m is recommended to avoid the lantern sitting below head height. Taller ceilings up to 3m accommodate a longer chain drop.

Is the glass cylinder removable for cleaning?

Yes. The blown glass cylinder can be removed from the chrome frame for cleaning. Wipe with a soft cloth and glass cleaner. The chrome frame should be polished with a dry microfibre cloth to maintain the reflective finish and avoid water spotting.

Can it be used on a dimmer switch?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb choice. LED candle bulbs must be labelled as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible dimmer. Traditional incandescent or halogen SES candles are dimmable by default with standard dimmer switches.
