Description

The Varo is a 19cm wide crystal wall light with a curved gold-finish bracket supporting vertical rows of faceted crystal prisms. A single G9 bulb fitting sits behind the crystal curtain, casting light through the prisms to create refracted patterns on adjacent walls. The gold-plated metal frame forms a half-cylinder shape that projects 11cm from the wall.

Designed for hallways, bedroom walls either side of a headboard, and stairwell landings where a compact fitting is needed, the Varo provides both ambient light and decorative accent. The 17.5cm height suits installation at eye level (approximately 1.5-1.7m from floor) or above, where the crystal refraction is visible from multiple angles. Pairs of Varo fittings work well flanking mirrors, doors or artwork.

Each crystal prism is individually hung on the gold wire frame, creating a dense vertical curtain that catches daylight when the bulb is off and multiplies light output when the bulb is on. The gold finish has a warm metallic tone that sits between polished brass and antique brass, pairing comfortably with warm whites, creams, and darker wall colours where the metal provides contrast. At 0.8kg the fitting mounts directly to standard UK wall fixings without additional bracing.

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 33W. G9 bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W LED G9 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedroom and hallway use.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

The Varo carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor locations.

How is it mounted?

The back plate fixes to the wall with two screws. The fitting weighs 0.8kg and mounts to standard UK wall plugs in plaster, brick or stud walls. The 11cm projection means it sits clear of most skirting boards when installed at typical wall light height.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulb used. LED G9 bulbs marked as dimmable will work with compatible dimmer switches. Check the bulb packaging before pairing with a dimmer.
