Description

The Sylva is a 2-light crystal wall light built around a polished chrome backplate and a tiered arrangement of faceted crystal blocks in varying lengths. Each crystal block is precision-cut with angular faces that catch and scatter light from the two G9 bulbs (sold separately) positioned behind the centre of the assembly.

Designed for hallways, staircases, dressing rooms and flanking positions beside mirrors or bedroom headboards, the Sylva delivers decorative presence in a compact 20cm x 25cm footprint. The 11cm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of door swings in narrow corridors whilst maintaining enough depth for the crystal layers to create dimensional light scatter. The chrome backplate mounts directly to a standard UK wall box and the crystal arrangement is pre-assembled on installation.

The combination of mirror-polished chrome and clear faceted crystal produces high contrast between reflective metal and refractive glass. The crystal blocks are arranged in three vertical tiers, alternating longer and shorter pieces to create rhythm without symmetry. When lit, the G9 bulbs positioned behind the central crystals send light outward through the faceted edges, turning each block into a secondary light source. The chrome finish pairs with contemporary and transitional interiors that use metallic accents alongside neutral walls.

What bulbs does it take?

The Sylva uses two G9 capsule bulbs with a maximum combined wattage of 33W. G9 bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 2W-4W each and 2700K-3000K for ambient corridor or dressing room lighting.

Is it suitable for narrow hallways?

Yes. The 11cm projection from the wall and 20cm width make it appropriate for corridors where door swings or passage width are tight. The 25cm height provides vertical presence without requiring high mounting positions.

How is the crystal maintained?

Wipe the crystal blocks with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or surface marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid household glass cleaners or chemical sprays that can leave residue on the faceted edges.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific G9 LED bulbs you install. Choose dimmable-rated G9 LEDs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. Confirm bulb and dimmer compatibility before fitting.
