Description

The Sophia is a three-light pendant built around three concentric metal drum shades in graduated sizes, finished in silver grey with a chrome accent at the suspension point. Each drum is open at top and bottom, allowing light from the three E27 bulbs to wash both upward and downward while the layered shades control lateral spill. The pendant ships with three E27 LED 10W bulbs fitted.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and double-height hallways, the Sophia works in spaces with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m. The adjustable wire drop allows the pendant to be set between 80cm and 155cm below the ceiling rose, so it can be positioned 700-900mm above a dining surface or dropped lower in a stairwell where headroom is not a constraint. The 60cm diameter footprint suits table lengths of 1.8m or above without overwhelming the proportion.

The silver grey finish on the metal drums gives a matte appearance that softens reflections under daylight and pairs cleanly with both warm whites and cool greys in modern and transitional interiors. The chrome canopy and suspension hardware add a polished accent at the ceiling line. At 4.6kg the fitting requires a secure ceiling fixing capable of handling the combined weight of the three metal shades and hardware.

Does it come with bulbs?

Yes. The Sophia ships with three E27 LED 10W bulbs already fitted in the lampholders. These are included in the box and do not need to be purchased separately.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop allows installation in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which works in standard 2.4m ceiling rooms when the drop is set to the minimum 80cm position.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Sophia is not protected against moisture and must be used in dry interior rooms only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor covered areas.

How is the height adjusted during installation?

The wire suspension system allows the pendant drop to be shortened or extended between 80cm and 155cm at the time of fitting. Once installed, the height is fixed unless the pendant is removed and the wire adjusted again.
