Solara 2 Light Crystal Wall Light - Chrome

The Solara is a 20.5cm-high crystal wall light with two G9 bulb fittings set behind a rectangular grid of faceted crystal blocks, framed in polished chrome. The crystal blocks are arranged in five horizontal rows across the front face, with each block casting refracted light patterns onto the wall surface when the bulbs are lit. The chrome frame provides a mirror-finish border that contains the crystal assembly and reflects light from adjacent sources.

Designed for hallways, stairwell landings, and positions flanking bathroom or dressing room mirrors, the Solara functions as both ambient and accent lighting depending on bulb choice. The fixture mounts flush to the wall with a backplate approximately 10cm wide, projecting 8-10cm from the wall surface once installed. Pairs of Solara fittings are often used symmetrically either side of a mirror or artwork, while single fittings suit narrower hallways where a wall sconce provides wayfinding light without floor-standing lamps.

The faceted crystal blocks are K9 optical crystal, cut to create internal reflections and surface sparkle when light passes through. The chrome finish is mirror-polished, so it shows fingerprints and will need occasional buffing with a microfibre cloth to maintain the reflective clarity. The combined weight of the crystal and chrome frame gives the fitting a substantial 1.2kg presence despite the compact 20.5cm height, so wall fixings need to be secured into solid masonry or wall studs rather than plasterboard alone.

What bulbs does it take?

The Solara takes two G9 capsule bulbs with a combined maximum wattage of 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 2.5-4W LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient hallway lighting, or daylight white (4000K-5000K) for mirror-side use in bathrooms.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific G9 LED bulbs fitted and the dimmer switch model. Not all G9 LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before pairing with a dimmer circuit.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The Solara does not carry an IP rating for moisture protection, so it is not suitable for use within bathroom zones 1 or 2 (close to baths, showers or washbasins). It can be used in bathrooms outside the regulated zones, typically on walls more than 60cm from water sources.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The K9 crystal blocks can be wiped with a barely-damp microfibre cloth and distilled water. Avoid household glass cleaners or sprays, as they can leave residue in the facet edges. The chrome frame is mirror-polished and shows fingerprints easily, so buff with a dry microfibre cloth to maintain the reflective clarity.
