Description
The Simara is a 4 light crystal cluster pendant with four textured glass shades suspended from a 36cm square antique brass ceiling plate. Each shade hangs on an adjustable cable and houses a G9 bulb (sold separately), creating four independent light sources arranged in a geometric cluster. The textured crystal glass diffuses light through faceted surfaces, casting refracted patterns onto nearby walls and ceilings.
Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.5m or higher, the Simara provides both ambient light and decorative focal interest. The 19cm overall height of the canopy means the shades can be adjusted during installation to hang at different levels, creating a cascading effect or kept level for a more uniform appearance. The 36cm footprint suits dining tables 120-180cm long or kitchen islands where the cluster sits centrally above the worktop.
The antique brass finish on the canopy and cable fixtures shows a warm, aged patina rather than bright polished brass, pairing well with walnut furniture, bronze hardware and interiors using terracotta, ochre or deep green tones. Each textured glass shade weighs approximately 700g, giving the full 3.1kg assembly substantial presence without requiring reinforced ceiling fixings beyond standard UK plasterboard toggles or joist mounts. The G9 bulb base accepts LED capsules typically rated 3-5W per bulb, giving combined output of 12-20W across the four lights.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Simara uses four G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 capsules rated 3-5W and 2700K-3000K. The maximum wattage per bulb is 8.25W (33W total divided by 4 lights).
Can the cable lengths be adjusted?
Yes. Each of the four cables is adjustable during installation, allowing the shades to hang at different heights for a cascading effect or at the same level for a uniform cluster. Once set, the cables lock in place and do not adjust further without re-installation.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 19cm canopy height plus adjustable cables means the shades typically hang 40-80cm below the ceiling depending on how the cables are set. For dining tables or kitchen islands, a ceiling height of 2.5m or above works best, allowing the shades to sit 70-90cm above the surface.
Is the antique brass finish lacquered?
Antique brass finishes from Impex are typically lacquered to preserve the aged patina and prevent further tarnishing. The finish can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth but should not be polished or treated with brass cleaner, as this would remove the antique effect.
