Description

The Simara is a single-light crystal wall light built around a diamond-cut crystal cage shade suspended from a polished chrome backplate. The shade measures 150mm wide by 140mm high and projects 170mm from the wall, housing a single G9 bulb fitting rated to 33W maximum. The crystal cage is formed from interlocking wire and cut crystal pieces arranged in a diamond lattice pattern, with light passing through the gaps and refracting off the cut surfaces.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, and powder rooms where a decorative wall light is needed without excessive projection, the Simara pairs ambient function with decorative detail. The 170mm projection keeps the fitting clear of doorways and narrow corridors while the crystal cage diffuses and scatters light across adjacent walls. The chrome backplate measures approximately 100mm square and mounts to a standard UK wall box, with the fitting wired through the backplate.

The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and pairs with modern, transitional and classical interiors that use chrome or silver-toned hardware. The diamond lattice pattern on the crystal cage shows different levels of detail depending on viewing angle — from directly below the individual crystal cuts are visible, while from the side the cage presents as a textured surface. The 0.5kg weight makes the fitting suitable for plasterboard walls with appropriate fixings.

What bulb does it take?

The Simara takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 33W maximum. G9 LED bulbs in the 3-5W range are recommended, typically providing 2700K-3000K warm white light. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Simara carries no IP rating and is not certified for bathroom zones. It can be installed in bathrooms outside the designated zones (typically more than 600mm from a bath or shower), but should not be placed where it could be exposed to direct water spray or high humidity.

How is the crystal cage cleaned?

Switch off the power and allow the bulb to cool fully. Wipe the chrome backplate with a dry microfibre cloth. The crystal cage can be dusted with a soft brush or cloth. For heavier dust build-up, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the crystal or getting water into the bulb fitting.

Can it be installed on a plasterboard wall?

Yes. The 0.5kg weight is within the safe load for plasterboard when using appropriate cavity fixings (such as metal toggle bolts or spring toggles). The backplate must be securely fixed to the wall before connecting the wiring.
