Description

The Seren is a 3-light pendant built around an open vertical cage frame in antique brass, housing three upward-facing E14 bulb fittings in a central cluster. The frame consists of six curved ribs that taper from a 25.5cm diameter at the widest point down to narrower top and bottom rings, creating an elongated barrel profile 42cm tall. The cage hangs from a matching antique brass chain and canopy.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast nooks, hallways and staircases where a compact pendant with even light distribution is needed, the Seren works above surfaces of 800-1200mm width or in entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The open frame allows the bulbs to cast light both upward to the ceiling and outward through the cage, creating ambient fill rather than directional task light. Fitting three warm-white filament or LED candle bulbs emphasises the vintage-inspired profile.

The antique brass finish is achieved through chemical patination that darkens the metal with amber-brown undertones, giving a softer appearance than polished or brushed brass. This finish pairs with traditional and transitional interiors, particularly those mixing wood tones, aged metals, and earth-toned textiles. The 2kg weight provides stability on the chain without requiring additional ceiling reinforcement beyond a standard ceiling rose.

Three E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this pendant with warm-white candle or filament-style LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K to complement the antique brass finish.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The 42cm cage height plus chain and canopy means the pendant requires sufficient ceiling height to avoid dominating the space. For ceilings at 2.4m, the chain can be shortened so the pendant hangs 300-400mm below the ceiling. For lower ceilings, consider a flush or semi-flush alternative.

How is the antique brass finish different from polished brass?

Antique brass is chemically treated to darken the metal with amber-brown patina, creating a softer, aged appearance. Polished brass is bright and reflective. The antique finish hides fingerprints and blends more comfortably with traditional and earth-toned interiors.

Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling?

The pendant hangs from a chain, so it will naturally hang vertically regardless of ceiling angle. However, the canopy needs to sit flush against the ceiling, which may require an angled ceiling adapter plate for slopes greater than 15 degrees.
