Description
The Ridmore Small is a 2-light wall light built around a central brass stem with a decorative tassel motif and two candle-style arms extending symmetrically from the centre. Cast in solid brass with a polished finish, the fitting measures 31cm wide by 48.5cm tall and projects 15cm from the wall once mounted. Each arm holds a single SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, sold separately.
Designed for hallways, staircases, reception rooms and dining rooms where a traditional aesthetic is required, the Ridmore Small provides balanced wall lighting without dominating narrower wall sections. The 15cm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall, making it suitable for corridors and side passages where deeper-projecting fittings would obstruct movement. The two arms sit at equal height, delivering symmetrical light distribution suitable for either side of a mirror, fireplace or doorway.
The polished brass finish reflects ambient light with a warm golden tone that pairs well with period-style interiors, wood panelling, and warm-painted walls in creams, ochres and deeper heritage tones. The tassel detail at the centre of the stem and the decorative finials at the base add classical visual weight without excessive ornament. At 1.4kg the fitting is substantial enough to feel permanent once wall-mounted but light enough for plasterboard fixing with appropriate anchors.
The small size in this range differentiates from the standard Ridmore 2-light by width — the compact 31cm span suits smaller wall sections and tighter spacing between architectural features where the larger variant would overscale the available wall area.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Ridmore Small takes two SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs around 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional look.
How does the small version differ from the standard Ridmore 2-light?
The small version measures 31cm wide, making it suitable for narrower wall sections and tighter spacing between architectural features. The standard version is wider and better suited to larger wall areas.
What fixing method is used?
The fitting mounts to a standard UK wall backplate using two screws. On plasterboard walls, use appropriate wall anchors rated for the 1.4kg weight plus the additional load during installation.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
The Ridmore carries no IP rating and is not designed for bathroom zones where moisture protection is required. It is suitable for dry interior locations only.
