Description

The Regara is a 6-light lantern pendant built around a hexagonal clear glass body framed in polished chrome, with six curved arms rising from the canopy to support a decorative crown. The six SES bulb fittings sit inside the glass enclosure on twin clusters, visible through the clear panels. The polished chrome finish reflects ambient light and pairs the traditional lantern form with a high-gloss contemporary surface treatment.

Designed for entrance halls, staircases with double-height ceilings, and formal dining rooms where the 93cm drop can be appreciated without overwhelming headroom, the Regara works in spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or above. The 43cm diameter fits typical UK hallway widths of 1.2-1.5m without crowding the corridor. The clear glass panels allow unobstructed light distribution while the chrome frame adds definition to the vertical structure. Typical installation positions the base of the lantern 2-2.2m above floor level in hallways or 70-80cm above a dining table.

The hexagonal glass body is built from six flat bevelled panels held in a chrome cage, with the arched crown and ball finials giving the lantern a Georgian-revival proportion. At 24kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a joist or ceiling mounting plate capable of supporting the weight. The polished chrome finish works in both traditional interiors with dark wood trim and contemporary spaces with white walls where the chrome provides a metallic accent. The lantern requires six SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional look with low running costs.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 93cm drop suits ceiling heights of 3m or above. In entrance halls and staircases the base of the lantern typically hangs 2-2.2m above floor level. For dining rooms a minimum 2.4m ceiling allows the lantern to sit 70-80cm above the table without obstructing sightlines.

How is the 24kg weight supported?

The lantern must be fixed to a ceiling joist or a mounting plate capable of supporting 24kg. Standard plasterboard ceiling roses are not sufficient. A qualified electrician should confirm the ceiling structure and install an appropriate fixing before hanging the pendant.

Is the chrome finish easy to maintain?

Polished chrome shows fingerprints and dust more readily than brushed finishes. Wipe the frame with a dry microfibre cloth. For smudges use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then buff dry. Avoid household sprays or abrasive cleaners which can damage the chrome plating.
