Description

The PowerMaster fire rated downlight uses a twist-and-lock quick-release GU10 lamp holder set into a white bezel measuring 86mm diameter with a recessed depth of 118mm. The fitting carries 30, 60 and 90 minute fire ratings, meaning it maintains the integrity of a ceiling's fire barrier for up to 90 minutes in the event of a fire, preventing flames and smoke from spreading through the ceiling void.

Designed for ceiling installation in residential, hospitality and commercial interiors, the downlight requires a ceiling void depth of at least 120mm and a cut-out diameter of 65mm. The twist-and-lock mechanism allows the GU10 bulb to be changed without removing the bezel or accessing the ceiling void — twist the bulb clockwise to release, replace, then twist anticlockwise to lock. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 50W (sold separately) and is compatible with most LED dimmable GU10 bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer switch.

The white powder-coated metal bezel sits flush with the ceiling plane once installed, giving a clean recessed profile that works in both neutral and white-ceilinged rooms. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments (Zone 3 only), so it is not suitable for bathroom Zones 1 or 2 or outdoor use. The 240g weight includes the full fitting minus the bulb.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a dimmable LED GU10 bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for general room lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible but the bulb must also be rated as dimmable for the system to work correctly.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum ceiling void depth of 120mm is needed to accommodate the 118mm recessed body of the downlight. The cut-out diameter is 65mm, which is a standard size for recessed downlights in plasterboard ceilings.
