The PowerMaster 4ft twin batten fitting is a white-finished steel housing designed to hold two LED T8 tubes (sold separately) in a side-by-side configuration. The fitting uses single-ended connection lampholders, meaning each tube is powered from one end only, which is standard for most LED T8 tubes but incompatible with older fluorescent tubes that require double-ended wiring.

Designed for dry indoor environments such as workshops, garages, retail back-of-house areas, offices and utility rooms, the fitting carries an IP20 rating, which means it offers no protection against moisture and should not be installed in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoor locations. The 4ft (1200mm) length suits standard ceiling grid spacing and provides a wide light spread when paired with two LED tubes totaling 3000-4000 lumens.

The white powder-coated steel body measures approximately 1200mm long by 150mm wide, giving a low-profile appearance when surface-mounted to ceilings or walls. The fitting operates on 220-240V mains and weighs 0.5kg unloaded, making it straightforward to mount on plasterboard ceilings with appropriate fixings. The twin-tube configuration delivers more light output than a single-batten equivalent, reducing the number of fittings needed to achieve target lux levels in larger rooms.

Does this fitting come with LED tubes?

No. The fitting is supplied without tubes. You will need to purchase two LED T8 tubes separately. The fitting is designed for single-ended LED tubes, not older fluorescent tubes.

Can it be used in a garage or workshop?

Yes, provided the space is dry. The IP20 rating means the fitting has no moisture protection, so it should not be installed in damp garages, outdoor sheds, or areas exposed to water spray or condensation.

What is single-ended connection?

Single-ended connection means each LED tube is powered from one end only, rather than both ends. Most modern LED T8 tubes use this wiring method. Older fluorescent tubes require double-ended wiring and will not work in this fitting.

Is the fitting dimmable?

No. The fitting itself does not support dimming. Even if you use dimmable LED tubes, the fitting's internal wiring is not compatible with dimmer switches.
