Description

The PowerMaster 10W LED bulkhead combines an integrated PIR motion sensor with a 6000K daylight LED module in a polycarbonate housing rated IP44 for outdoor use. The sensor detects movement within a 110° arc up to 12 metres away and activates the 900-lumen output automatically, holding it on for up to 4 minutes after the last movement is detected before switching off.

Designed for porches, garages, driveways, bin stores and side passages where hands-free activation is needed, the bulkhead mounts onto a standard 20mm conduit entry or direct onto masonry with fixings through the back plate. The PIR includes a manual override that cycles between On, Off and Auto modes via pulsed mains switching, allowing the light to be held on continuously when needed without requiring a separate switch. The IP44 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as carports and recessed porch ceilings.

The polycarbonate lens diffuses the LED output evenly across the beam angle without creating harsh shadows or glare spots, while the housing resists impact and UV degradation over time. The 6000K colour temperature gives a neutral daylight-white output that aids visibility and task work in garages and workshops. The 10W power draw delivers 900 lumens at mains voltage (220-240V 50Hz), giving comparable output to a traditional 60W bulb with significantly lower running costs.

What is the PIR detection range and angle?

The integrated PIR sensor detects movement within a 110° arc up to 12 metres away. Detection accuracy is highest when movement crosses the sensor's field of view rather than approaching head-on.

How long does the light stay on after detecting movement?

The PIR time-on duration is adjustable up to 4 minutes. The light switches off automatically after this period if no further movement is detected. Each new movement during the on period resets the timer.

Can the light be overridden to stay on continuously?

Yes. The bulkhead includes a manual override feature accessed by pulsed mains switching (turning the mains supply off and on quickly). This cycles between On, Off and Auto modes, allowing the light to be held on continuously without the PIR or switched off completely.

Is it suitable for fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP44 rating protects against dust and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as porches, carports and recessed porch ceilings. It is not rated for fully exposed locations subject to driving rain or direct hose-down.
