Description

The Petala is a 2-light wall light with twin gold-finished arms supporting fluted glass shades, each decorated with Strass lead crystal droplets and a central draped crystal strand connecting the two arms. The wall light takes two G9 bulbs (sold separately) up to 33W each, housed within the fluted glass shades that diffuse the light whilst the crystal elements add refractive sparkle.

Designed for traditional and classical interiors, the Petala suits hallways, bedrooms and formal living rooms where decorative wall lighting reinforces period detail or adds symmetry to alcoves and chimney breasts. The 32cm width allows pairs to be installed either side of a mirror, mantelpiece or doorway, whilst the 18cm projection keeps the fitting clear of furniture placed against the wall. The rounded backplate fits standard UK wall lighting back boxes and mounts directly to plastered or wallpapered surfaces.

The gold finish on the metal arms and backplate carries a warm tone that pairs with brass fixtures, warm wood tones and cream or ivory painted walls. The Strass crystals are cut lead crystal rather than acrylic or glass, giving sharper refractive edges and a denser weight. The fluted shades are clear glass with vertical ribbing that catches and scatters the light from the G9 bulb inside, preventing glare whilst maintaining brightness.

What bulbs does it take?

The Petala takes two G9 bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W at 2700K-3000K for a warm glow suitable for traditional interiors.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb chosen and the dimmer switch installed. G9 LED bulbs vary in their dimming performance, so check the bulb specification before pairing with a dimmer.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The Strass crystals can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. For more thorough cleaning, dampen the cloth very slightly with distilled water, wipe each crystal individually, and dry immediately to avoid water marks. Do not use household sprays or polishes on lead crystal.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

The Petala carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms or other damp environments.
