Description

The Opus is a cylindrical outdoor wall light with a white painted die-cast aluminium body and dual Pyrex glass diffusers that emit light both upwards and downwards. The 110mm diameter cylinder projects 110mm from the wall and houses a single G9 bulb (sold separately) behind transparent Pyrex glass top and bottom panels, creating bi-directional light throw.

Designed for exterior installation on porches, patios, balconies and alongside entrance doors, the Opus carries an IP54 rating protecting against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. The up-and-down light distribution provides ambient wall-washing above and functional illumination below, reducing harsh shadows near doorways and steps whilst highlighting architectural details or textured wall finishes.

The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and damp environments, and the white powder-coated finish pairs cleanly with render, painted brick, timber cladding and contemporary façade materials. Pyrex glass withstands thermal cycling better than standard glass, reducing the risk of cracking when a hot bulb is exposed to rain. The fixture is dimmable when paired with a compatible G9 LED bulb and dimmer switch.

What does the IP54 rating mean?

IP54 indicates the fitting is protected against dust ingress (the '5') and splashing water from any direction (the '4'). This makes the Opus suitable for most sheltered and exposed outdoor locations including porches, patios and building façades.

What bulb does it take?

The Opus takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most installations use a G9 LED between 3W and 5W for energy efficiency and long bulb life. The fixture is dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and compatible dimmer switch.

Does it provide light in both directions?

Yes. The Pyrex glass diffusers at the top and bottom of the cylinder allow light to escape upwards and downwards, creating a balanced up-and-down wall-washing effect rather than a single beam.

How is it mounted?

The Opus mounts to an exterior wall via a rear backplate, with the cylindrical body projecting 110mm outwards. Standard installation requires fixing to a solid surface such as brick, block or timber using appropriate outdoor-rated fixings for the substrate.
