Description

The Montare is a 2-light crystal wall light built around an ornate cast-metal backplate finished in antique bronze, with two curved arms holding candle-style SES bulb holders. Hand-cut lead crystal droplets cascade from the arms and backplate on brass connector pins, arranged in decorative swags and individual pendants that catch and refract ambient light.

Designed for hallways, formal dining rooms and living rooms where wall lighting provides layered ambience alongside ceiling fittings, the Montare pairs well with dark wood furniture, warm paint tones and period or transitional interiors. The 12cm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact enough for narrower corridors whilst the 43cm height provides adequate scale on typical 2.4m walls. Bulbs are sold separately — most users pair this with two 40W SES LED candle bulbs in warm white to keep the antique bronze and crystal detail visible when the light is off.

The antique bronze finish is darker and more oxidised than polished or satin bronze, with a matte surface that minimises glare and sits comfortably in rooms with heritage architectural features or deeper colour schemes. Each crystal drop is individually hand-cut, so edge profiles and facet patterns vary slightly between pieces. What bulb does it take?

The Montare takes two SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose 40W SES LED candle bulbs in warm white for lower running costs and longer life.

How is it fixed to the wall?

The backplate mounts to the wall via two fixing holes. At 2kg, the fitting requires secure fixings into masonry or suitable wall anchors rated for the load. The electrical connection is made via a terminal block behind the backplate.

Can the crystal drops be removed for cleaning?

Yes. Each crystal drop is suspended on a brass connector pin that can be unhooked for cleaning. Wipe crystals with a dry microfibre cloth or a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid chemical cleaners or polishes.

Is the antique bronze finish lacquered?

Typically yes. Antique bronze finishes on lighting are sealed with a clear lacquer to prevent further oxidisation and to protect the finish from handling marks. Wipe clean with a dry cloth — avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the lacquer.
