Description

The Maris is a 2 light crystal wall light built around a polished chrome frame supporting multiple oval-cut crystal droplets arranged in three horizontal tiers. Each tier holds a row of crystals threaded onto looping chrome wire bands, creating a layered profile 24cm wide and 18cm tall. Two E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the crystal layers, casting light through the faceted glass to scatter prismatic reflections across adjacent walls.

Designed for hallways, bedroom side walls, or flanking bathroom mirrors, the Maris works in pairs to bracket a mirror or artwork, or as single accent pieces to highlight a wall feature. The 14cm projection from the wall keeps the fitting within typical hallway widths without protruding into the walking line. The chrome backplate measures approximately 18cm tall and fixes to a standard UK wall box concealed behind the upper curve.

The oval crystals vary in size across the three tiers, with larger droplets on the outer edges and smaller pieces towards the centre of each row. This graduated sizing creates visual depth when viewed head-on and gives the fitting a sculptural weight despite the 1.3kg total mass. What bulbs does the Maris take?

The fitting takes two E14 small Edison screw (SES) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to reduce glare through the crystal while maintaining adequate light output.

Can the Maris be installed in a bathroom?

The fitting carries no IP rating and is not certified for bathroom zones 1-2 (near water sources). It can be installed in bathroom zone 3 (more than 60cm from the bath or shower enclosure) where moisture levels are lower, or in hallways and bedrooms adjacent to bathrooms.

How is it fitted to the wall?

The chrome backplate fixes to a standard UK wall box using two screws concealed behind the upper curve of the frame. The crystal-laden chrome bands clip onto the backplate after wiring is complete, allowing the bulbs to be installed before the decorative elements are added.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulbs to cool completely. Wipe each crystal droplet with a dry, lint-free microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the chrome wire bands and do not use glass cleaners or sprays directly on the fitting.
