Description
The Luz is a single-light outdoor wall light moulded from white resin with a transparent satin acrylic diffuser at the base. The cylindrical body measures 90mm wide and projects 165mm from the wall, housing a single GU10 fitting (bulb sold separately). The IP55 rating seals the fitting against rain and dust ingress, making it suitable for exterior walls, porches, and covered outdoor areas.
Designed for residential entrances, garden walls, patio perimeters and garage surrounds, the Luz delivers downward wash light through the acrylic diffuser. The satin finish on the diffuser softens the GU10 beam and reduces glare when viewed from ground level. The fitting mounts via a concealed rear backplate with two fixing points, and the resin body resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments.
The resin construction is rated to function across a temperature range of -60°C to +90°C, covering UK winter lows and direct summer sun exposure. The white finish suits both rendered masonry and timber cladding, providing a clean backdrop that does not compete with architectural detail. Dimmable when paired with a dimmable GU10 LED and compatible exterior dimmer. From Ideal Lux, Italy.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP55 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP55 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It is suitable for external walls, porches and covered outdoor areas, but not for direct ground burial or submersion.
What bulb does the Luz take?
The Luz takes a standard GU10 bulb (sold separately). Most users pair this with a 5-7W LED GU10 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for exterior lighting. Maximum wattage depends on the bulb type — check the fitting label inside the diffuser on delivery.
Is the fitting dimmable?
Yes, when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible exterior dimmer. The resin body and acrylic diffuser do not affect dimming — compatibility depends on the bulb and dimmer combination.
Can it withstand freezing temperatures?
Yes. The resin construction is rated to function from -60°C to +90°C, covering UK winter lows and summer sun exposure without cracking or warping.
