Description
The LumiLife 10W IP54 recessed downlight is a fixed-fit LED downlight with selectable colour temperature settings across three whites, an integrated driver, and an IP54 rating for outdoor and wet-room installation. The downlight outputs 800 lumens through a 90° beam angle and fits a 90-95mm ceiling cut-out, with spring clips securing the fitting into plasterboard or timber joists.
Designed for bathrooms, outdoor soffits, covered porches, kitchens and utility rooms where moisture protection is needed, the IP54 rating guards against splashing water and dust ingress. The tri-white colour temperature selection allows switching between warm white (2700K-3000K), neutral white (4000K), and cool white (5000K-6500K) via a recessed switch on the driver housing before final installation, matching the light temperature to the room function without needing separate fittings.
The white powder-coated bezel sits flush with the ceiling surface once fitted, giving a low-profile finish that suits both contemporary and traditional ceilings. The integrated driver is rated for 40,000 hours of operation at typical domestic use patterns (approximately 10-15 years running 8 hours per day), reducing lamp replacement frequency compared to older halogen downlights. At 0.2kg the fitting adds minimal load to plasterboard ceilings when using appropriate fixings.
Note: the Specification table lists the fitting as non-dimmable. This contradicts the description text supplied by the manufacturer. If dimmer compatibility is required, please contact us to confirm the exact model specification before ordering.

Frequently Asked
What does IP54 mean for installation location?
IP54 provides protection against dust and splashing water from any direction. This makes the downlight suitable for bathrooms (zones 2 and 3), outdoor covered areas like soffits and porches, and kitchens or utility rooms where steam and splashing occur. It is not rated for direct water jets or full submersion.
How is the colour temperature changed?
The tri-white selection is controlled by a switch on the driver housing, accessible before the fitting is pushed into the ceiling void. You select warm white, neutral white or cool white during installation. Once the fitting is installed and the ceiling closed up, the colour temperature cannot be changed without removing the downlight again.
What ceiling depth is needed?
The fitting requires sufficient void depth above the ceiling to accommodate the driver housing and heat dissipation. A minimum 100mm ceiling void depth is recommended. The 90-95mm cut-out diameter is the hole size in the plasterboard or ceiling surface itself.
Can it be used in a shower enclosure?
No. IP54 is not rated for the direct water spray found inside a shower enclosure (zone 1). For above-shower installation you need an IP65 or IP67 fitting. This IP54 downlight is appropriate for general bathroom ceiling areas outside the shower zone.
