Description
The Luen is a 3-light solid brass wall light built around a central backplate that extends into three curving arms, each finished with a candle-style holder and white candle sleeve. The polished brass frame carries ornate scrollwork detailing that runs through the backplate and down each arm, giving the fitting a traditional French rococo character. Each arm takes an SES bulb up to 60W (sold separately).
Designed for formal residential settings where ceiling heights and wall scale support larger wall lighting, the Luen suits entrance halls, landings, dining rooms and formal sitting rooms. The 51.5cm height and 30cm width give the fitting presence on feature walls, either flanking a mirror or fireplace, or placed symmetrically down a landing or gallery corridor. The 17cm projection from the wall creates visible shadow depth behind the scrollwork when lit.
The polished brass finish reflects ambient and natural light, creating tonal contrast against painted walls in whites, creams, greys and deeper heritage colours. The solid brass construction gives the fitting a 1.75kg weight that feels substantial on installation and withstands the thermal cycling from incandescent or halogen bulbs. The white candle sleeves soften the brass visually and conceal the bulb holder detail, keeping attention on the metalwork rather than the light source.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Luen take?
The Luen takes three SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 25-40W equivalent LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K) to suit the traditional styling.
What wall type is needed for installation?
The 1.75kg weight requires solid masonry fixings (wall plugs and screws into brick or block) or timber noggins behind plasterboard. The backplate mounts via two fixing points concealed behind the ornate scrollwork detail.
Is the brass lacquered or will it tarnish?
Polished brass wall lights are typically supplied with a clear lacquer coating to prevent tarnishing. Over years the lacquer may wear in high-touch areas. Unlacquered polished brass will develop a natural patina over time, which some users prefer. Contact us to confirm lacquer status for this batch.
Can it be used in pairs?
Yes. The Luen is commonly installed in symmetrical pairs flanking a mirror, fireplace or doorway, or spaced evenly down a landing or gallery corridor. Ensure electrical supply points are positioned accurately before wall preparation.
