Description
The Louven is a 2-light wall light built on a polished brass frame with hand-cut crystal drops cascading from the arms and backplate. Two candle-style SES bulb holders sit on curved brass arms that extend from a central orb-style brass backplate, which also houses a third internal SES fitting. The crystal elements — a mix of faceted teardrops, shaped pendants and ornamental flat-cut pieces — are wired individually onto the brass frame, catching and reflecting light from the bulbs and ambient room light.
Designed for hallways, dining rooms and bedrooms where traditional decorative wall lighting is needed, the Louven pairs well with mirror placement, where the reflected crystal creates additional visual depth. At 28cm wide and 38cm tall, it suits walls with typical 2.4m ceiling heights without overwhelming the space. The 16cm projection from the wall places the light source forward of the wall plane, making it functional as accent lighting beside a dresser or bedhead. Each light takes a maximum 60W SES (E14) candle bulb, sold separately.
The polished brass finish provides a warm gold tone that deepens with age and exposure to air, developing a natural patina over time unless regularly polished. The hand-cut crystal drops show facet variation and slight irregularities that confirm hand-cutting rather than machine pressing. The combined brass and crystal weight of 1.15kg requires a solid wall fixing into masonry or a stud, not plasterboard alone. The backplate conceals the wiring and fixing points once installed.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Louven take?
The two visible arms take SES (E14 small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 60W each. There's also a third internal fitting in the central orb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K for a soft glow that highlights the crystal.
Will the polished brass tarnish over time?
Yes. Polished brass develops a natural patina as it oxidises with air exposure, deepening in tone over months to years. This is a characteristic of the material. If you prefer the bright gold tone, periodic polishing with a brass cleaner will restore the original finish.
What wall fixing is required?
At 1.15kg, the Louven requires a solid fixing into masonry or a timber stud. Use appropriate wall plugs and screws for brick or plaster walls. Plasterboard alone will not support the weight — a stud or cavity fixing rated to at least 2kg is needed.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The Louven carries no IP rating and is not designed for bathroom use. It should be installed in dry interior locations only.
