Description

The Kielen is a 200mm crystal pendant light with faceted crystal droplets strung on brass pins around an antique brass frame. The crystals are arranged in tiered rows forming a basket shape, with a domed brass cap at the base and a decorative finial beneath. A single E27 bulb fitting sits inside the crystal basket, hidden by the top rows of droplets when viewed from below.

Designed for bedrooms, dressing areas, hallways and powder rooms where compact decorative lighting is needed, the Kielen works as a single pendant over a side table or in pairs flanking a bed or mirror. The 220mm overall drop from ceiling rose to finial suits rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings, leaving clearance above head height when hung centrally. The antique brass finish — a darker, warmer tone than polished brass — pairs with traditional, Victorian-revival and warmer-toned interiors.

The crystal droplets are faceted octagonal cuts, each catching and refracting light from the central bulb and from daylight entering the room. The brass frame shows a decorative scroll pattern at the top rim, typical of early-20th-century lighting influenced by Edwardian and Art Nouveau styling. At 1kg the pendant has enough weight to hang stably on a standard flex and ceiling rose without requiring additional support.

The Kielen takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with a warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulb at 4-6W and 2700K to match the antique brass tone.

Can it be hung in a bathroom?

The Kielen carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor locations where moisture is present.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power and allow the bulb to cool. Wipe each crystal droplet with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystals and do not use sprays or chemical cleaners on the brass frame.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 220mm drop from ceiling rose to base finial suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when hung centrally in a bedroom or hallway. Lower ceilings can accommodate the pendant if it is positioned away from walking routes.
