Description
The Helio is a single-arm brass wall light with a 10cm circular backplate featuring pressed floral relief detailing, a curved solid brass arm, and a candle-style SES bulb fitting. The entire fitting is finished in polished brass, which reflects ambient light and creates warm tonal highlights on walls and adjacent surfaces. The candle holder sits on a decorative drip tray with beaded edging, completing the period aesthetic.
Designed for hallways, dressing rooms, bedroom reading positions and compact spaces where a full-size bracket light would overpower the wall, the Helio projects 15.5cm from the wall surface and stands 15cm tall. The single-bulb format works well when installed in pairs flanking mirrors, doors or alcoves, or as repeating units along a corridor at 1.5-2m intervals. The solid brass construction gives the fitting a 400g weight that feels substantial despite its compact footprint.
The floral relief on the backplate is cast into the brass rather than applied as a separate component, meaning the detail sits proud of the circular base and creates shadow lines when lit from above or below. The polished finish shows fingerprints and will develop a natural patina over time unless regularly cleaned with a brass polish. The curved arm follows a gentle arc that positions the bulb approximately 12cm forward and 5cm down from the backplate centre, directing light slightly downward and outward rather than straight ahead.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Helio uses a small Edison screw (SES, E14) candle bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K) to match the period aesthetic without excessive heat output.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The Helio carries no IP rating and is designed for dry indoor use only. It should not be installed in bathrooms or other high-humidity environments where moisture could tarnish the brass or affect electrical safety.
How is the polished brass maintained?
Polished brass develops a natural patina over time, darkening and losing its mirror-like finish. To maintain the bright polished appearance, wipe regularly with a soft cloth and use a brass polish every few months. For a low-maintenance option, allow the patina to develop naturally for an aged brass look.
What spacing is recommended for multiple fittings?
When installing multiple Helio wall lights along a hallway or corridor, spacing them 1.5-2m apart at a consistent height of 1.6-1.8m from the floor creates balanced light distribution without creating dark patches between fittings.
