Description

The Glanmore is a 2 light solid brass wall light with a cast ornamental backplate, twin curved arms and candle-style BC bulb holders, finished in polished brass. Each arm sweeps out and up from a central mirrored backplate decorated with scrollwork and beading detail, supporting a drip-tray ring and cylindrical sleeve at the bulb position. The fitting takes two BC (B22 bayonet cap) bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately.

Designed for hallways, dining rooms, and living rooms where wall space benefits from symmetrical accent lighting, the Glanmore works as a standalone piece above a console table or sideboard, in pairs flanking a mirror or doorway, or repeated along a corridor to create rhythm. The 15cm projection from the wall gives adequate clearance for the bulbs without dominating narrow hallways, while the 24cm width and 17.5cm height suit standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The polished brass reflects both natural and artificial light, warming the surrounding wall surface.

The solid brass construction gives the fitting a 1.5kg weight, requiring secure fixing into masonry or a structural timber stud rather than plasterboard alone. What bulb does the Glanmore take?

The fitting takes two BC (B22 bayonet cap) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose candle-shaped LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K to suit the traditional aesthetic.

Can it be used with a dimmer switch?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen. If you fit dimmable LED bulbs and have a compatible LED dimmer installed, the Glanmore can be dimmed. The fitting itself is passive wiring with no electronic components.

How is it fixed to the wall?

At 1.5kg, the Glanmore requires secure fixing into masonry using wall plugs and screws, or into a structural timber stud. Plasterboard fixings alone will not support the weight safely. The backplate conceals the fixing points once installed.

Will the brass tarnish over time?

Yes. Polished brass develops a natural patina unless maintained with a brass cleaner. Some users prefer the aged appearance; others polish periodically to retain the bright finish. Avoid abrasive cleaners that scratch the surface.
