Description

The Glaera is a 100mm cube outdoor wall light with two integrated 11W LEDs casting light upwards and downwards through tempered glass panels. The fitting is built from powder-coated die-cast aluminium finished in white, with a 90mm projection from the wall and an IP65 rating for protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction.

Designed for external walls on patios, entrance porches, garden boundaries and contemporary facades, the Glaera directs crisp 4000K cool white light in two beams to highlight architectural details and mark pathways without spill into neighbouring properties. The cube format and clean white finish suit modern and minimalist exteriors where a neutral accent is needed. The non-dimmable LED output provides consistent illumination across dusk-to-dawn operation without flicker or warm-up delay.

The die-cast aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments, while the tempered glass diffusers withstand impact and temperature variation without cracking. Internal white reflectors increase light efficiency by directing the LED output through the glass rather than absorbing it within the housing. At 100mm square the Glaera scales to single-storey walls and narrow passages where larger fittings would overwhelm the space.

What does the IP65 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP65 provides full protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making the Glaera suitable for all UK weather conditions including heavy rain and coastal spray. It is not submersible but handles standard outdoor exposure without degradation.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 11W LEDs are integrated into the fitting and rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of operation. When the LEDs reach end-of-life, the entire fitting requires replacement.

Can this be installed horizontally as well as vertically?

The Glaera is designed for vertical wall mounting with the up-and-down light distribution. Horizontal mounting would direct light sideways rather than up and down, reducing its functional effectiveness.

What colour is the 4000K light?

4000K is a cool white colour temperature that appears neutral to slightly blue-tinted, similar to daylight at midday. It provides high visibility and contrast, suitable for security and task lighting rather than warm ambient outdoor spaces.
