Glaera 2 Light Outdoor LED Wall Light 11W 4000K - Grey

The Glaera is a 100mm square outdoor LED wall light with two integrated 11W LED light sources behind tempered glass diffusers, housed in a die-cast aluminium body finished in powder-coated grey. The IP65 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for external walls, covered walkways, garden boundaries and building facades exposed to UK weather.

The dual-light configuration casts illumination both upwards and downwards from the wall, creating a bidirectional wash effect that highlights the texture of brickwork, render or cladding behind the fitting whilst also providing functional path lighting below. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light that works well for security and wayfinding applications where colour accuracy matters more than creating a warm ambience. The 90mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact on narrow passages and porch areas.

The die-cast aluminium construction gives the Glaera a robust 1.2kg weight that withstands impact and temperature cycling without warping. The grey powder-coat finish resists UV degradation and salt corrosion in coastal locations. The tempered glass diffusers include white internal reflectors that distribute the LED output evenly across the lit surfaces rather than creating hotspots. The integrated LEDs are non-dimmable and rated for 30,000 hours of operation, eliminating bulb replacement.

Can the Glaera be used in fully exposed locations?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, so the fitting can be mounted on walls fully exposed to rain, though it is not designed for submersion. Coastal installations benefit from the corrosion-resistant powder-coated aluminium body.

What is the light distribution pattern?

The Glaera casts light both upwards and downwards from the wall surface, creating a bidirectional wash effect. This highlights the wall texture behind the fitting and provides functional illumination on the ground or path below.

Is the colour temperature suitable for domestic gardens?

The 4000K output is a neutral white, cooler than typical domestic warm-white (2700K-3000K) but warmer than commercial cool-white (5000K-6500K). It works well for security, wayfinding and architectural accent applications where colour accuracy matters, but may feel clinical if used as the sole light source in a relaxed garden setting.

How is the fitting wired?

The Glaera requires mains 230V supply wired into the back of the fitting through a standard wall-mounted junction box or back box. The fitting should be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with Part P Building Regulations.
