Description
The Flessen is an 8-light chandelier built from solid brass with eight curved arms radiating from a sculpted central column, each arm ending in a candle-style holder. The antique brass finish gives the metal a warm, aged patina that reduces reflections and complements wood panelling, plaster ceilings and traditional interiors. Each of the eight arms holds an SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and reception rooms with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above, the 71cm diameter and 43cm drop suit tables 1.6-2.2m long or central positions in rooms up to 5 x 5m. The chandelier suspends on chain (chain length adjustable on installation) and the central column features a turned brass sphere below the arms, acting as a visual anchor. At 4kg the chandelier requires a ceiling rose rated for a minimum 5kg load.
The antique brass finish is applied over solid brass, not plated steel, so the metal beneath the patina will not rust or corrode. The curved arm geometry spaces the eight bulbs evenly around the central axis, avoiding visual clustering. The aged surface tone pairs comfortably with oak, walnut, darker paint colours and Georgian or Victorian architectural detailing. Each SES holder accepts bulbs up to 60W, giving a combined maximum load of 480W across the eight arms, though most users fit 4-6W LED candle bulbs for ambient rather than task lighting.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Flessen take?
Each of the eight arms holds an SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient lighting.
What room size does it suit?
The 71cm diameter works in rooms up to approximately 5 x 5m. For dining tables, it suits table lengths between 1.6-2.2m when hung centrally. Ceiling height should be 2.5m minimum to allow adequate clearance below the fitting.
Is the brass finish solid or plated?
The chandelier is made from solid brass with an antique brass finish applied to the surface. This means the underlying metal is brass throughout, not a plated coating over steel, so it will not rust or corrode.
What ceiling fixings are required?
At 4kg the chandelier needs a ceiling rose rated for a minimum 5kg load, fixed into a joist or using appropriate ceiling anchor fittings for plasterboard ceilings. The chain length can be adjusted on installation to suit ceiling height.
