The Flessen is an 18-light solid brass chandelier finished in gunmetal, arranged across two tiers of curved arms radiating from a central turned column and sphere. The upper tier carries six candle-style lights, the lower tier twelve, each on a scrolled arm terminating in a dish-style candle cup and SES (E14) bulb fitting. The gunmetal finish is a dark grey with a low-lustre surface — less reflective than polished chrome but with more depth than matt black.

Designed for entrance halls, dining rooms and double-height living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Flessen suits traditional interiors seeking a darker tonal anchor and contemporary schemes pairing industrial finishes with classical forms. The 80cm diameter and 67cm drop require a room width of at least 3.5m to avoid the chandelier dominating the space, and the 8kg weight needs a ceiling joist fixing or reinforced plasterboard anchor rather than a standard ceiling rose alone.

The solid brass construction gives the Flessen its 8kg heft and ensures the arms hold their curve under the weight of the bulbs and candle cups. What bulbs does the Flessen take?

The chandelier uses 18 SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a soft ambient glow, or filament-effect LEDs for a more traditional look.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 67cm drop works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. For entrance halls or double-height spaces the chandelier can hang lower, but in standard-height dining rooms it should sit 700-900mm above the table surface to avoid head clearance issues.

Is the chandelier heavy enough to need reinforced fixing?

Yes. At 8kg the Flessen requires a ceiling joist fixing or a reinforced plasterboard anchor rated for the weight. A standard plastic ceiling rose plug is not sufficient. Professional installation is recommended.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the bulbs chosen and the dimmer switch. LED bulbs marked as dimmable will work with compatible LED dimmers. Non-dimmable LEDs will flicker or fail to dim. Check bulb packaging before pairing with a dimmer circuit.
