Description
The Flessen is a single-arm traditional wall light in pewter finish, constructed from solid brass with a turned backplate column, curved arm and candle-style holder. The fitting takes one SES (E14) bulb up to 60W and projects 19cm from the wall, giving enough clearance to cast light across a corridor or hallway without obstructing passage.
Designed for hallways, staircases, bedrooms and living rooms where wall-mounted accent lighting is needed, the Flessen provides directional light to the side rather than direct downlight. The 23cm height and 7cm width suit walls with limited vertical space, such as between picture rails and skirting, or either side of a chimney breast. The pewter finish reads as a cool mid-grey metallic that pairs with both warm and cool wall tones without the yellow-gold cast of polished brass.
The backplate features traditional turned detailing — a bulbous column form topped with a scrolled finial and wall rose, consistent with heritage brass fittings from the Victorian and Edwardian periods. The arm curves out from the column and sweeps back upward to support the candle holder, which sits on a shallow drip tray. Despite the traditional profile, the pewter finish softens the visual weight compared to bright brass, making it workable in transitional and grey-toned contemporary interiors as well as period restorations.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Flessen take?
The fitting takes one SES (E14 small Edison screw) candle bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulb at 2700K for hallway or living room accent lighting.
How far does it project from the wall?
The projection is 19cm from the wall to the front of the candle holder. This is enough clearance to avoid head contact in corridors wider than 90cm but may obstruct narrower passageways if fitted at head height.
Is the pewter finish painted or plated?
The pewter finish is applied to solid brass. The exact application method (plating, lacquer or paint) is not specified by Impex, but the finish presents as a satin-sheen mid-grey metallic with no visible brush marks.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No IP rating is listed in the specification, so the Flessen is rated for general indoor use only. It should not be installed in bathroom zones where water contact or high humidity is expected.
