Description

The Dione is a 3 light crystal wall light built on a horizontal polished chrome backplate with layered cut crystal prisms arranged edge-to-edge across a 10cm depth. Three G9 bulb fittings sit behind the crystal layers, with light refracting through the faceted prisms to create a ripple of brightness across the wall.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways and stair landings where both ambient and decorative light are needed, the Dione mounts horizontally to spread light left and right rather than up and down. The 14cm height and open-ended format suit positions above mirrors, beside vanity units, or flanking doorways in narrow corridors. The chrome backplate reflects light back through the crystal, doubling the refractive effect.

Each crystal prism is individually faceted with straight-cut edges that catch both natural daylight and evening bulb light, so the fitting changes appearance depending on the time of day. The 1.7kg weight comes from the density of the cut crystal and the solid chrome backplate, giving the fitting a quality feel on the wall. The G9 fittings accept halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to 33W total output (sold separately).

What bulbs does it take?

The Dione takes three G9 capsule bulbs with a maximum combined wattage of 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit LED G9 capsules at 2-3W each and 2700K-3000K for bathroom or hallway use.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Dione carries no IP rating in the specification table, so it is not certified for wet zones (zones 1 or 2 directly above baths or inside shower enclosures). It can be used in bathrooms outside these zones, typically on walls away from direct water spray.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power and allow the bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal prism gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately. Avoid household glass cleaners or sprays that may leave residue between the crystal layers.

Does it spread light horizontally or vertically?

The fitting mounts horizontally with an open-ended design, so light spreads left and right along the wall rather than up and down. This makes it well-suited to positions above mirrors or along narrow hallways where lateral light spread is more useful than vertical.
