Description

The Colven is a 4-light glass lantern with a cylindrical clear glass body framed in polished chrome, suspended on a matching chrome chain from a tiered canopy. Four SES candle-style bulbs sit inside the glass enclosure on chrome arms that curve outward from a central chrome stem, providing 360-degree illumination through the clear glass panels.

Designed for entrance halls, stairwells and tall hallway spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Colven's 63cm drop and vertical proportions suit tall voids without overwhelming narrower floor plans. The 33cm diameter keeps the lantern compact enough for hallways 1.2-1.5m wide while the four-bulb configuration provides sufficient ambient light for navigation. The chrome frame and decorative scroll arms pair with both traditional panelled halls and contemporary entrance spaces where a formal accent is needed.

The clear glass panels are bevelled at the edges and sit flush against the vertical chrome supports, creating a clean geometric profile when viewed from below. What bulbs does the Colven take?

The lantern takes four SES (E14 small Edison screw) candle bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional candle appearance without the heat output of incandescent filament bulbs.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 63cm drop works in entrance halls and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In double-height spaces or over staircases the lantern can be suspended lower, typically with 2-2.5m clearance from the floor to the base of the glass enclosure.

Can the chain length be adjusted?

Yes. The chrome chain can be shortened during installation by removing links, allowing the lantern to be set at the appropriate drop for the specific ceiling height and room proportions.

How is the glass cleaned?

The clear glass panels can be wiped with a glass cleaner and microfibre cloth once the bulbs are switched off and cooled. The chrome frame can be cleaned with a damp cloth and dried immediately to prevent water marks forming on the polished surface.
