Description
The Aros is a 120cm circular wall mirror built from multiple curved sections of beveled glass arranged in a spiral pattern around a central mirror. Each glass element is cut and beveled separately, then positioned to overlap and intersect, creating a three-dimensional ribbon effect that runs around the perimeter. The silver-mirrored finish on the glass sections reflects light at different angles depending on viewing position.
Designed for feature wall placement in entrance halls, above console tables, or as a standalone piece in living areas where ceiling height allows, the Aros works best against plain backgrounds that let the form read clearly. The 3cm projection from the wall and the layered glass structure create shadow lines that shift throughout the day as natural light moves across the room. At 19.5kg, the mirror requires secure wall fixings into solid masonry or studs, not plasterboard alone.
The black lacquered MDF backing visible between the glass ribbons provides a contrasting edge to the silver mirrored sections, sharpening the definition of each curved element. The beveled edges on the glass catch and refract light, adding a prismatic effect to the overall reflectivity. The circular format means the spiral pattern has no defined top or bottom, allowing the mirror to be rotated during installation to align the most open section with the viewer's preferred angle.
Schuller produces the Aros in Spain using mirror glass cut to template, hand-beveled, and assembled onto the MDF substrate. The silver finish is a standard mirror coating rather than a metallic paint, so the reflective quality matches typical household mirrors. The design reads as both functional mirror and wall sculpture, contributing visual interest even when not being used to check appearance.

Frequently Asked
What wall fixings are needed for the 19.5kg weight?
The mirror must be fixed into solid masonry, brick, or timber studs using appropriate heavy-duty wall plugs and screws rated for at least 25kg. Plasterboard-only fixing is not safe for this weight. Schuller typically supplies mounting brackets or D-rings on the rear; check the packaging on arrival for the specific fixing method.
How is the beveled glass cleaned?
Use a standard glass cleaner or a solution of distilled water and white vinegar applied with a soft microfibre cloth. The beveled edges can trap dust, so a light brush or dry cloth along the edges before wet cleaning helps prevent smearing.
Can it be hung in a bathroom?
The mirror has an MDF backing which is not moisture-resistant. It should not be placed in bathrooms with poor ventilation or high humidity, as the MDF will absorb moisture and swell over time, potentially warping the mirror surface.
Does the spiral pattern have a specific orientation?
No. The circular format and continuous spiral mean there is no defined top, bottom, left or right. The mirror can be rotated on the wall during installation to position the most open or closed section of the spiral where preferred.
