Aliston 4 Light Glass Lantern - Polished Brass

The Aliston is a 4-light glass lantern pendant built around a polished brass frame with diamond-shaped geometric panels and bevelled clear glass. Each of the four SES (E14) bulb holders sits inside the lantern body, with light passing through the faceted glass and reflecting off the polished brass metalwork. The lantern body measures 33cm in diameter and 56cm in height, suspended on a matching polished brass chain.

Designed for entrance halls, stairwells and double-height spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Aliston works where a strong vertical anchor is needed. The diamond motif across the brass frame gives the lantern architectural structure without blocking sightlines, and the bevelled glass edges catch and refract light across multiple angles. The 5kg weight and polished brass finish suit traditional, classical and transitional interiors where brass metalwork is already present in door furniture, handrails or architrave details.

The four bulbs inside the lantern are visible through the glass, so pairing the fitting with decorative filament candle bulbs or clear LED filament equivalents maintains the visual coherence of the design. The polished brass finish reflects ambient daylight during the day and multiplies bulb light in the evening, giving the lantern a presence even when switched off. What bulbs does the Aliston take?

The lantern uses four SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated to a maximum of 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with decorative candle-style filament LED bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K to maintain the classical look through the glass panels.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 56cm body height plus chain suspension means the Aliston works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In entrance halls or stairwells with double-height ceilings, the lantern can be hung higher to act as a vertical focal point without obstructing head clearance on the stairs.

Is the polished brass lacquered?

Most polished brass light fittings from Impex carry a clear lacquer coating to slow tarnishing. This keeps the bright reflective finish without regular polishing, though over time natural oxidation may still occur at edges and joints.

How is the glass cleaned?

The bevelled glass panels can be wiped with standard glass cleaner and a microfibre cloth. Access to the inside of the lantern requires lowering the fitting or removing the chain, so routine cleaning focuses on the exterior faces of the glass.
