Description
The Orell is a 1-light wall lantern built around a cylindrical clear glass shade set within a satin nickel frame. The glass cylinder measures 15cm in diameter and 24cm in height, with the metal frame forming a top cap and base ring that hold the glass in place. A single E27 candle-style bulb sits centrally inside the glass enclosure on a vertical metal stem, visible through the clear panels.
Designed for hallways, bedroom walls flanking a bed, or bathroom mirror sides where decorative ambient light is needed, the Orell projects 11cm from the wall once mounted. The clear glass leaves the bulb and internal metalwork visible, so pairing with a decorative filament bulb or LED candle adds to the appearance. The satin nickel finish offers a brushed, low-sheen surface that sits between polished chrome and antique brass in tone, pairing with both warm and cool colour schemes.
The cylindrical glass form softens the light from the bulb without heavily diffusing it, so the fitting provides both ambient wash on the adjacent wall and a decorative focal point when the bulb is lit. The 1kg weight and 11cm projection suit standard plasterboard walls with appropriate fixings, and the single E27 fitting accepts LED, halogen or traditional filament bulbs up to 40W. The Orell is part of a wider Impex range that includes pendant and ceiling variants in matching satin nickel and glass.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Orell take?
The fitting takes a single E27 (Edison screw, also marked ES) bulb up to 40W. The bulb is not included. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle or filament-effect bulb in 2700K warm white, as the clear glass leaves the bulb visible.
Is the glass tinted or clear?
The glass cylinder is clear. The internal metal stem and bulb are visible through the glass when lit and unlit.
What projection from the wall does it have?
The fitting projects 11cm from the wall once mounted. This suits hallways and bedrooms where clearance is needed for door swings or furniture placement.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The Orell does not carry an IP rating in the specification, which means it is not certified for bathroom zones 1 or 2 where water ingress protection is required. It can be used in bathroom zones outside the immediate shower or bath area where standard dry-location fittings are permitted.
