Description

The Luxa is a 25cm single-light pendant with a dome-shaped chrome-finish glass shade suspended from a chrome stem and ceiling rose. The glass has a reflective metallic coating on the exterior that creates a mirror-like surface, while the interior remains clear to allow light transmission. A single E14 bulb (sold separately, max 40W) sits inside the dome, casting downward task light and reflecting off the chrome interior.

Designed for kitchen islands, compact dining tables and hallway positions where a small-diameter pendant provides focused light without blocking sightlines, the Luxa sits approximately 600-900mm below ceiling level when hung at standard drop lengths. The 25cm diameter keeps the shade proportional to narrow benchtops, breakfast bars and two-seater dining tables. The reflective chrome surface picks up ambient light from windows and other fittings during the day, adding visual movement to the space even when the pendant is switched off.

The glass dome has three circular dimples pressed into the surface, breaking the smooth mirror finish and adding a tactile sculptural quality. These dimples create optical distortion in the reflections, diffusing the hard edge of the chrome finish and preventing the shade from looking like a plain industrial dome. The chrome stem and ceiling rose fit standard UK ceiling roses, and the pendant weighs 1.9kg once the bulb is installed.

What bulb does it take?

The Luxa takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for kitchen or dining use.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The cable can be shortened during installation by an electrician, allowing the pendant to be set at the appropriate height for the ceiling and worktop or table surface below.

Is the chrome finish on the inside or outside of the glass?

The chrome metallic coating is on the exterior of the glass dome. The interior remains clear to allow light transmission from the bulb. This means the shade appears reflective when viewed from outside but allows downward light to pass through.

What are the dimples in the glass for?

The three circular dimples pressed into the dome are a decorative feature. They create optical distortion in the reflected light and add a sculptural quality to the shade, preventing it from looking like a plain industrial dome.
