Description

The Lumen is a single pendant light with a clear glass globe housing a frosted inner sphere, suspended on a matt black rod from a polished chrome ceiling canopy. The 131cm total drop includes the rod and globe, with the 16cm diameter glass shade sitting at the base of the stem. A single G9 bulb sits inside the frosted inner sphere, diffusing light through both layers of glass.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and bedside positions, the Lumen works as a standalone pendant or in multiples across a counter. The vertical drop suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, with the globe typically hanging 700-900mm above a worktop or table depending on installation preference. The chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the rod conceals the cable run.

The matt black rod provides visual weight and contrast against the reflective chrome canopy and transparent glass, giving the pendant a defined silhouette in daylight. The double-layer glass shade diffuses the G9 bulb into a soft ambient glow rather than exposing the bulb directly. The 16cm globe is compact enough for narrow spaces while still providing enough presence to anchor a small dining table or side-of-bed position.

The pendant takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 2.5-4W LED G9 in 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting, though halogen G9 bulbs up to the rated wattage are also compatible.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

The 131cm total height includes the rod and globe. If the rod is non-adjustable, shortening would require cutting and re-terminating the cable during installation. Check with your electrician before fitting if a shorter drop is needed.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The 131cm drop is designed for standard ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In rooms with lower ceilings the globe would hang quite low, so this pendant is better suited to spaces where vertical clearance is available.

Can multiple pendants be installed in a row?
