Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-way mains adaptor converts a single wall socket into two outlets, using an unfused pass-through design that routes mains power directly to both sockets without inline fusing. The adaptor plugs into any standard UK 13A wall socket and provides two full-size 3-pin sockets on its body, allowing two appliances to run from one wall outlet.
Designed for temporary use in homes, offices and hotel rooms where additional outlets are needed without installing permanent wiring, the adaptor suits low-to-moderate draw appliances such as phone chargers, lamps, radios and laptops. The unfused design means the protection relies on the wall socket's own fuse and the appliance plugs themselves, so the adaptor should not be used for high-draw appliances like kettles, heaters or irons unless the combined load stays well under 13A total.
The white ABS body measures 50mm wide, 48mm tall and projects 47mm from the wall when plugged in, making it compact enough to sit behind furniture or in tight spaces between a wall and a sofa. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments away from bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor locations. BS 1363 certification confirms compliance with British safety standards for plugs, sockets and adaptors.

Frequently Asked
What does unfused mean?
Unfused means the adaptor passes mains power directly through to both sockets without an inline fuse. Protection comes from the wall socket's fuse and the fuses in the plugs of the appliances you connect. This is acceptable for low-to-moderate loads but means you should avoid using high-draw appliances through the adaptor.
What's the maximum safe load?
The adaptor is rated at 13A on 230V mains, giving a theoretical 3,120W maximum. In practice, keep the combined load of both appliances below 10A (2,300W) to leave headroom and avoid overheating. Do not use for kettles, heaters, irons or other high-draw appliances unless they're the only item plugged in.
Can it be used in bathrooms or kitchens?
No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations away from water sources. Do not use in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoor locations.
Will it work with surge-protected extension leads?
Yes. The adaptor can plug into a surge-protected extension lead socket, though this adds another connection point in the chain. For critical equipment like computers, a single quality surge-protected extension is usually safer than stacking adaptors.
