Description
The Flessen is a 2-light solid brass wall light with twin curved arms extending from a sculpted backplate, finished in gunmetal with a muted gloss. Each arm terminates in a candle-style holder fitted for a small Edison screw (SES) bulb up to 60W. The backplate measures 29cm wide by 23cm high, with a 15cm projection from the wall once mounted.
Designed for flanking mirrors, fireplaces, doorways and feature walls in hallways, dining rooms and bedrooms, the Flessen provides symmetrical ambient lighting in pairs or as a single accent on narrower walls. The gunmetal finish adds tonal contrast against lighter walls while pairing cleanly with darker wood, brushed metal hardware, exposed brick and moody interior schemes. The classical form of the curved arms and turned backplate brings period formality without requiring a heritage setting.
The solid brass construction gives the fitting a 0.65kg weight that sits securely on the wall once fixed to standard UK back boxes or mounting points. The gunmetal finish is applied over the brass and shows subtle reflectivity under direct light without the high shine of polished chrome or nickel. The fitting accepts any standard SES candle bulbs including filament LEDs, allowing flexibility in light temperature and brightness.
The Flessen is part of Impex's traditional lighting collection and is also available in polished brass and antique brass finishes where a warmer metallic tone is preferred over the gunmetal's cooler grey-black appearance.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Flessen takes two small Edison screw (SES/E14) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient lighting in hallways and dining rooms.
Can it be used as a single light or does it need to be installed in pairs?
It can be used singly or in pairs. Pairs are common flanking mirrors, fireplaces and doorways for symmetrical lighting, but a single fitting works well on narrower walls or as an accent beside a door frame or artwork.
What's the difference between gunmetal and antique brass?
Gunmetal is a grey-black finish with a muted gloss, providing cooler-toned contrast against lighter walls and pairing well with industrial and contemporary schemes. Antique brass is a warm bronze-gold with a darker patina, suited to heritage and warmer-toned interiors. Both are available in the Flessen range.
What wall clearance is needed behind the backplate?
The backplate mounts directly to a wall with standard UK fixings. The 15cm projection means the fitting extends 15cm from the wall face once mounted, so allow clearance above furniture, door frames and other wall features where the fitting might interfere with opening doors or passing traffic.
