Description
The Energizer outdoor LED spike light is a GU10-fitting spotlight housed in a black polycarbonate cylinder with finned heat dissipation ribs, mounted on an adjustable bracket and spike base. The IP65 rating means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, making it suitable for garden beds, pathways, decking perimeters and coastal locations where salt spray is present.
Designed for uplighting trees, architectural features, water features and planted borders, the spike drives into soil or grass for quick installation without groundworks, while the included hard-surface base plate allows the same fitting to be bolted onto decking, paving or rendered walls. The bracket tilts through approximately 90 degrees, locking the beam angle with a side screw once adjusted. The 50cm pre-attached cable terminates ready for connection to low-voltage garden lighting circuits or mains outdoor junction boxes.
The polycarbonate body is UV-stabilised to resist yellowing and brittleness under prolonged sunlight exposure, and the non-corrosive construction suits coastal gardens where ferrous metals would corrode. The finned cylinder acts as passive cooling for the GU10 lamp inside (sold separately), extending lamp life by dissipating heat through the ribbed surface area. At 150g the fitting is light enough to reposition seasonally without tools, yet stable enough on the spike not to lean in soft ground once pushed 100-150mm deep.

Frequently Asked
Does it come with a bulb?
No. The fitting takes a standard GU10 LED bulb (sold separately). Most users pair it with a 5-7W GU10 LED in 3000K warm white for garden uplighting, though cooler temperatures suit architectural accent lighting.
Can it be used on decking or hard surfaces?
Yes. The spike is removable and a hard-surface base plate is included, allowing the fitting to be bolted onto decking, paving, rendered walls or any solid surface. Two fixing holes are provided on the base plate.
Is the IP65 rating suitable for coastal areas?
Yes. The polycarbonate and non-corrosive construction is designed for coastal environments where salt spray would corrode metal fittings. The IP65 rating also protects against driven rain and hose-down cleaning.
How is the beam angle adjusted?
The lamp head tilts on a bracket with a side-mounted locking screw. Loosen the screw, tilt the head to the desired angle, then retighten to lock the position. The bracket provides approximately 90 degrees of vertical adjustment.
