Description

This Knightsbridge E27 pendant holder pairs a 6-inch (51.5mm diameter) matt black steel ceiling rose with a knurled lampholder, pre-wired with 150mm of cable to reduce installation time. The holder accepts standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W and carries Class II double-insulated construction, meaning no earth connection to the fitting is required.

Designed for bare-bulb pendants in kitchens, hallways, bar areas and commercial settings where exposed filament or vintage-style LED bulbs are used as the primary decorative element. The 286mm projection from ceiling to base of the lampholder suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when paired with a medium-length decorative bulb. The holder can also accept a lampshade with a 42mm internal ring diameter if fitted between the ceiling rose and the lampholder grip ring.

The matt black finish on the premium-grade steel provides a low-sheen industrial aesthetic that pairs with factory-style interiors, exposed brick, concrete and black ironmongery. The knurled grip ring on the lampholder allows bulbs to be changed by hand without tools. The pre-fitted 0.15m cable terminates in a connector block with capacity for 2 x 1.5mm² cables, accommodating both loop-in and radial lighting circuits.

What bulb does this holder take?

The holder accepts any standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with vintage-style LED filament bulbs between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K for a warm decorative glow.

Is it pre-wired or do I need to wire it myself?

The holder is pre-wired with 150mm of cable terminating in a connector block. You connect your ceiling circuit cables (live, neutral, earth if present) to the block inside the ceiling rose, then fit the rose to the ceiling. No wiring into the lampholder itself is needed.

Can I fit a lampshade to this holder?

Yes. The holder accepts lampshades with a 42mm internal ring diameter, fitted between the ceiling rose and the lampholder grip ring. The shade sits below the ceiling rose and above the bulb.

What does Class II mean?

Class II indicates double-insulated construction. The fitting does not require an earth connection to the metalwork, though an earth terminal is provided in the ceiling rose for connecting through to the next fitting on a loop-in circuit. The double insulation prevents live parts from becoming exposed even if internal insulation fails.
