Description

The Knightsbridge E27 vintage pendant holder is a pre-wired metal lampholder with a black nickel finish, a 100mm diameter canopy and a knurled grip on the threaded E27 socket. The holder arrives with 150mm of cable already terminated and looped through the canopy, reducing installation time to connecting the cable ends to the ceiling rose and fitting the canopy over the rose.

Designed for industrial, vintage and traditional interiors where the lampholder itself is part of the aesthetic rather than hidden behind a shade, the black nickel finish provides a dark gunmetal tone that pairs with exposed filament bulbs, Edison-style LED bulbs or vintage carbon-effect bulbs. The pendant can also accept a fabric or metal shade with a 42mm internal ring diameter, allowing the holder to be dressed with a shade after installation if the exposed-bulb look becomes too stark.

The holder is rated at 60W maximum and carries Class II double-insulated construction, meaning it does not require an earth connection to the ceiling rose despite having an earth terminal on the lampholder body. The 286mm projection from ceiling to the base of the socket gives enough clearance for most decorative bulbs without the pendant hanging too low in rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights. The premium-grade steel construction and knurled grip detail give the holder a substantial, machined feel compared to pressed-metal budget alternatives.

Does this holder require an earth connection?

The holder carries Class II double-insulated construction and does not require an earth connection to the ceiling rose, although an earth terminal is present on the lampholder body. Connect only live and neutral to the ceiling rose.

What bulb does it take?

The holder takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with an exposed filament LED bulb or vintage carbon-effect LED between 4-8W for the industrial aesthetic.

Can I fit a lampshade?

Yes. The holder accepts fabric or metal shades with a 42mm internal ring diameter. The shade sits on the threaded collar below the E27 socket and is held in place by a shade ring screwed onto the collar.

Is the cable length adjustable?

The pendant arrives with 150mm of pre-wired cable. This is a fixed drop and cannot be lengthened. If a longer drop is needed, the cable can be extended at the ceiling rose end before connecting to the mains supply, but this requires re-terminating the cable ends.
