Description
The Vellum is a single-light wall lantern built around an open-frame iron cage finished in aged bronze, suspended from a curved hook bracket. The cage measures 16cm in diameter and 45cm in height, with horizontal iron bands framing the bulb aperture and decorative cut-out detail at the base. A single SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb sits inside the cage unobstructed, casting light outward through the open ironwork in all directions.
Designed for interior hallways, staircases, entrance porches and corridor walls where traditional or rustic aesthetic is needed, the lantern projects 21.5cm from the wall on a scrolled bracket. The aged bronze finish shows tonal variation across the ironwork, creating the appearance of weathered metal without the maintenance requirements of genuine aged bronze. The fixture pairs with stone, brick, timber and plaster wall finishes in period properties, barn conversions and heritage-style new builds.
The open-frame design means there is no glass panel to clean or replace, and the iron construction weighs 1.69kg, giving the bracket enough substance to feel anchored without requiring specialist wall fixings in standard masonry or stud walls. The SES bulb fitting accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), allowing choice over light temperature and brightness depending on whether the lantern is used for ambient wash light or task lighting in a hallway.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Vellum takes a single SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K for hallway or staircase lighting.
Can it be used outdoors?
The Vellum carries no IP rating and is designed for interior use only. The open-frame cage offers no protection from rain or moisture, so it is not suitable for exterior walls, porches exposed to weather, or bathroom zones.
What wall fixings are needed?
The lantern weighs 1.69kg and requires two screws and wall plugs appropriate to your wall type. For masonry or brick walls, standard 6mm plugs are sufficient. For plasterboard or stud walls, use cavity fixings rated to at least 3kg per fixing.
How is the aged bronze finish maintained?
The aged bronze is a factory-applied finish on iron, not genuine weathered bronze. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal polishes, which will strip the aged patina and expose the base metal.
