Description

The Imahn is a single-light industrial pendant built from tubular metal components configured as an open rectangular frame. The frame uses black-finished vertical tubes with natural brass elbows and cross-bar, suspending a single E27 lampholder at the centre. The fitting measures 171mm wide by 324mm tall, with the frame itself standing 51mm deep.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, and hallway runs where pendant lighting needs to be both functional and visually defined, the Imahn works in multiples of two or three spaced 400-600mm apart. The drop is adjustable on installation between 619mm minimum and 1295mm maximum, allowing the pendant to be set 700-900mm above a worktop or 650-800mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. The open frame casts minimal shadow and allows the bulb to radiate light in all directions.

The black tube sections are powder-coated steel, while the brass components are left in their natural finish without lacquer, so they will develop a darker patina over time if left untreated. The contrast between the black verticals and the warm brass joints gives the fitting a strong visual presence without needing decorative embellishment. The frame exposes the E27 bulb completely, making the choice of bulb part of the design — most users pair this with an ST64 or A60 LED filament bulb in warm white to complete the industrial aesthetic.

What bulb does it take?

The Imahn takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. The open frame design exposes the bulb completely, so most users pair this with an ST64 or A60 LED filament bulb in warm white (2200K-2700K) to match the industrial aesthetic.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable on installation between 619mm and 1295mm by shortening the suspension cable inside the canopy. Once installed and the canopy fixed to the ceiling, the drop cannot be adjusted without removing the fitting and re-cutting the cable.

Will the brass components tarnish over time?

Yes. The natural brass elbows and cross-bar are not lacquered, so they will darken and develop a patina over months of exposure to air. This is a characteristic of unlacquered brass and is intentional in the design. The brass can be polished back to its original tone using a brass cleaner if preferred.

How many pendants are needed for a kitchen island?

For a typical 1.5-2m kitchen island, two Imahn pendants spaced 500-600mm apart provide functional task light. For islands longer than 2m, three pendants spaced evenly work better. The 171mm width means the fittings do not visually crowd the space even when hung in a run.
