Description

The Flessen is a 3-light solid brass chandelier in a brushed pewter finish, built around a central orb column with three curved arms rising to candle-style holders. Each arm terminates in a shallow drip tray and an SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb holder rated to 60W per lamp. The chandelier measures 43cm in diameter and 43cm from ceiling rose to the base of the central orb, making it suited to smaller dining rooms, entrance halls, powder rooms and bedrooms where a traditional multi-arm fitting is wanted without the scale of a larger chandelier.

The pewter finish gives a dark, muted metallic tone that sits between polished chrome and matt black, with a brushed surface that reduces glare under natural light. The curved arms follow a Dutch-inspired profile, echoing 17th and 18th-century European brass lighting, while the spherical orb at the base of the column adds visual weight and closes the composition below the arms. The chandelier hangs on a chain concealed within a pewter stem and ceiling rose, with the drop adjustable on installation to suit ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m.

At 1.5kg total weight, the Flessen is light enough for standard ceiling roses in period properties and plasterboard ceilings with appropriate fixings. What bulbs does the Flessen take?

The chandelier takes three SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated to a maximum of 60W. Most users pair this with candle-shaped LED filament bulbs in warm white 2700K to match the traditional aesthetic. Bulbs are sold separately.

What room size does it suit?

The 43cm diameter works in rooms between 10-16m², including smaller dining rooms, hallways, landings and bedrooms. In larger rooms the Flessen can work as secondary lighting over a side table or in a reading corner, but it will not provide sufficient ambient light as the sole source in rooms above 18m².

Is the drop adjustable?

Yes. The chain inside the pewter stem can be shortened during installation to suit ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m. The 43cm body height is fixed and includes the central column, arms and orb.

Can the pewter finish be cleaned?

The brushed pewter finish can be dusted with a dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately. Do not use metal polishes, abrasive cleaners or household sprays, as these can strip the brushed finish or leave residue in the textured surface.
