Description

The Dauren V3 is a 2-light solid brass wall light built around an ornate backplate with layered botanical detailing and two symmetrical arms, each ending in a tulip-form candle cup. The backplate measures 28cm wide and 19cm high, with the arms projecting 11.5cm from the wall. Each arm holds a single SES (Small Edison Screw) bulb up to 60W, and the polished brass finish reflects ambient light from the wall surface.

Designed for placement in pairs flanking fireplaces, mirrors or doorways, or spaced along corridors and staircases, the Dauren V3 suits traditional and period-style interiors where decorative wall lighting complements the architecture. The two arms spread horizontally, making the fitting wider than it is tall, which creates balance when hung on either side of a vertical feature. The 1.5kg weight requires a solid fixing into masonry or a wall stud.

The polished brass finish is mirror-bright when new and will develop a patina over time unless polished. The ornate backplate features raised leaf and scroll motifs cast into the solid brass, giving depth and shadow to the surface under changing light. The fitting is supplied with white candle tubes (visible in the candle cups when no shade is fitted), though many users pair this with small fabric shades to soften the light and reduce glare from bare bulbs.

Installation requires connection to a wall-mounted electrical box with the backplate screwed into the wall and wired to a standard UK light circuit. The fitting does not include an integral switch, so it is typically controlled by a wall switch on the same circuit or by the room's main lighting control.

What bulbs does it take?

The Dauren V3 takes two SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional look without excessive heat or energy use.

Can shades be fitted?

Yes. The candle cups are sized for standard small clip-on shades with an internal diameter of approximately 30mm. Small fabric or glass shades can be fitted to soften the light and reduce bare-bulb glare.

How is the polished brass maintained?

Polished brass will tarnish naturally over time. To maintain the mirror finish, wipe with a soft dry cloth and polish periodically with a dedicated brass polish. For a patina effect, allow the brass to age naturally without polishing.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Dauren V3 does not carry an IP rating and is not suitable for use in bathroom zones where moisture or direct water contact is expected. It is designed for dry indoor locations only.
