Description
The Bonelle is a 2 light wall sconce with symmetrical scroll arms extending from a central column, finished in hand-painted cream over a metal frame. Each arm terminates in a shallow bobeche and candle-style SES holder, positioned upward to cast light onto the ceiling and upper wall. The 31cm width sits comfortably above a console table or either side of a bathroom mirror without overwhelming the wall.
Designed for hallways, bedrooms, and traditional living spaces, the Bonelle suits French country, cottage and heritage interiors where colour palettes lean towards neutrals and soft pastels. The upward-facing bulbs provide ambient rather than task lighting, so the sconce is better paired with table lamps or pendants in a bedroom setting than relied on as the primary light source. The hand-painted finish shows subtle brush marks and tonal variation between individual pieces, a characteristic of the application process rather than a defect.
The cream finish pairs well with walls in off-white, pale grey, duck egg blue and soft sage, and with woodwork in natural oak, painted white or distressed finishes. The scroll detailing on the arms echoes classical wrought-iron work, but the lightweight metal construction (1kg total weight) makes the sconce easy to fix onto plasterboard using standard cavity fixings. Each SES bulb is rated up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose between warm-toned filament-effect LEDs for decorative glow or brighter bulbs for functional light.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Bonelle takes two SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose candle-shaped LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a warm ambient glow.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
The sconce carries no IP rating, so it is not rated for bathroom zones. It can be used in a bedroom or hallway adjacent to a bathroom, but should not be installed within bathroom zones 1 or 2 where moisture levels are higher.
How is the hand-painted finish applied?
The cream finish is applied by hand over the metal frame, so brush marks and slight tonal variation between individual pieces are normal. This is a characteristic of hand-painted lighting, not a defect.
Can it be fitted to plasterboard walls?
Yes. The 1kg weight is light enough to be supported by cavity fixings rated for plasterboard, provided the fixings are appropriate for the wall thickness and are installed correctly. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician or fitter.
