Verdale 3 Light Glass & Wire Floor Lamp - Chrome

The Verdale is a 153cm floor lamp built around a slender chrome column supporting three cube-shaped glass heads, each housing a single G9 bulb behind clear glass with visible wire mesh inside. The cubes stack vertically at staggered heights along the column, creating a sculptural presence against walls or in corners.

Designed for reading corners, beside armchairs, or flanking sofas in contemporary living rooms, the Verdale provides both task and ambient light depending on bulb choice. The three G9 fittings (bulbs sold separately) accept capsule bulbs up to 11W each, giving a total maximum load of 33W. The mesh detail inside each glass cube diffuses direct bulb glare while maintaining a visible filament effect when paired with clear G9 lamps.

The chrome finish is polished to a mirror-like surface, reflecting surrounding colours and light. The 26cm square base plate weighs 7kg, providing stability on both carpet and hard floors without needing additional weighting. The vertical arrangement of the three cubes concentrates light distribution along a single axis rather than spreading it horizontally, making the lamp well-suited to narrow spaces between furniture where a traditional multi-arm floor lamp would feel too wide.

The wire mesh visible inside each cube is a decorative detail rather than a functional shade — it creates a grid pattern when the lamp is lit but does not significantly reduce light output. The glass cubes themselves are clear rather than frosted, so bulb selection affects the overall light quality: warm-white LEDs produce soft ambient light, while daylight-temperature bulbs create a crisper, cooler effect.

What bulbs does it take?

The Verdale takes three G9 capsule bulbs, each up to 11W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 2W-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient room lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. LED G9 capsule bulbs marked as dimmable will work with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. Non-dimmable G9 LEDs will not dim and may flicker if paired with a dimmer switch.

How is the lamp switched on and off?

The Verdale uses an inline foot switch on the cable, typically positioned 30-40cm from the plug. There is no switch on the lamp body itself.

Is the chrome finish easy to maintain?

Polished chrome shows fingerprints and dust more visibly than brushed or matt finishes. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust, or use a barely-damp cloth for marks. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal polishes.
